I'm still here - just have a very hard time making time to sit down and actually blog!
Wow, what short week this was, but we accomplished a lot. Can you believe we have even started our prewriting for our March books? Hopefully the kids can read their February books to the Kindergarten and/or the first graders soon.
We are progressing nicely with our preparation for First Reconciliation! I have asked the kids to take their pamphlets home to share with parents as there is always a section on the last page for parents. Remember to mark the date - March 5th at 5:30. I will have a letter with more information about the actual event for you in the near future so all of you will know what to expect.
We will be taking our Theme 4 Skills tests for Reading next week. That means we only have two more themes until we have completed the book. That's great!
Monday is our Chapter 13 Math test. My kids are zooming right along in Math, too! The addition is going just fine. Tuesday we will begin subtraction. Keep on practicing those fact families! Knowing the basic facts helps kids immensely. It really adds to their understanding of the math concepts, but it saves them time - ( not having to count on their fingers or make tally marks to count truly is a way to save time.)
We are doing lots of things to learn about Lent - art projects, stories, scripture, and explanations of why we do things like fast and abstain, etc. I am counting on my kids to keep up with their "paths to Lent" each day. My kids did an EXCELLENT job at the Stations of the Cross last Friday as well as our liturgy this past Wednesday. I am so proud of them!! I can see them now - our future lectors, greeters, communion distributors, servers... super!
I'll TRY to keep up a little better with this blog :-) but I'm sure all of you are in the same boat with so many things to do and families to take care of each day. Have a good day!
